This is the highest sports award title in the former USSR to all those who have fully and effectively involved in the construction and elevation of Soviet sport.

Since 1994, Valery resides with his family in Liege, Belgium.
There was the head coach of the League francophone Judo, took care of one of the biggest clubs in the area for over 15 years and founded his school of judo "Kata Guruma." It is also a huge fan of tennis. He notably won the Criterium de Liège in veterans in 1995 and was second in junior veterans in 1997.

  • After 11 years spent with the national team of the USSR, Valery Dvoinikov began a coaching career.

  • 1984Coach of the national team of Algeria. He raised two champions of Africa.
  • 1988Coach of the national team of Ukraine.
  • 1990Coach of the francophone League Judo, Belgium.
  • 1993Coach of the national team of Portugal.


    Among his students can be counted a vice-champion of Junior World Championship and Junior European Championship, Almeida (currently the coach of the national team of Portugal), two bronze medalists at the World Championships (Pedro Suares and Guilherme Bentes), a World University Champion (Guilherme Bentes), a Europe Junior Champion (Pedro Suares).
